Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has become the world’s richest man with a fortune of 188.5 Billion USD. Previously this spot was held by the founder of Amazon.Inc Jeff Bezos.

The news of Musk’s upgrade was published by BBC on Thursday, January 7th. “He takes the top spot from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who had held it since 2017” the news network reported. Elon Musk is widely known for his electric cars company ‘Tesla’ and Space Exploration Venture ‘SpaceX’. Crypto community applauded the news as Musk is often called ‘Crypto-Friendly Billionaire‘. According to last known facts, he owns 0.25 BTC.

Tesla stocks have skyrocketed in value over the past few years as people have become more inclined towards buying electric cars. On Wednesday, the price of stocks hit 700 billion USD for the first time in history. Tesla is now worth more than Toyota, Hyundai, GM and Ford combined. Elon Musk holds 20% shares in this company. Subsequently, he amassed enough wealth to take the position of world’s richest man.
