Global Google searches for the term ‘NFT’ have surpassed the term ‘Crypto’ for the first time. The week leading up to Christmas shows that people are into N0n-Fungible Tokens more than they’re into Crypto.

There is a first time for everything. NFT, a strange concept, is now at the help of the digital currency market. People are searching for it and learning about it on the internet. The Google trends show that worldwide people are putting in queries related to NFT.

The data depicts a higher interest of Asian countries in NFTs. The northeast Asian Country of Japan topped with most searches. South Korea and Taiwan followed in second and third places respectively.

NFTs had a breakthrough year with people around the globe buying into the craze. The digital art pieces became gold at the start of 2021. Tech enthusiasts jumped on this bandwagon and started making money off small pieces of art which were otherwise available freely on the internet. The transactions on Opensea, one of the most popular NFT marketplace, crossed $10 billion.

Almost all aspects of society have taken a hit from the NFT craze. Popular sports brands like Addidas and Nike are making their own NFTs. Basketball players, Singers, artists all are making their own NFTs and buying into the craze. The non-Fungible Token market will continue to expand in 2022. Those who are still unaware of this trend will likely miss out.
